OnePlus Nord- the first impressions about the phone

OnePlus always creates pleasing designed products with great quality and brings the best technology to its users around the world. OnePlus focuses on smooth software and powerful hardware. Recently, OnePlus has released Nord which is a mid-range camera phone. Though OnePlus Nord might look alike to the OnePlus 8 series, Nord looks like one of the most balanced cost-effective flagship phones.

Release date and Price

OnePlus Nord was launched on July 21, 2020, and it is a very reasonably priced phone with a starting price tag of Rs 24,999.

OnePlus NORD specifications
Design and display

It has an aluminum frame and covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 both front and back. OnePlus Nord also has a 90Hz screen and offers a firm grip having a 6.44-inch fluid AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. Nord measures 158.3 x 73.3 x 8.2 mm which means it is shorter than the OnePlus 8 series phones. It is not overbearing with a weight of 184g. Nord is available in two colors, the Gray Onyx and the Blue Marble.

Four Rear cameras:
  1. Main: It has a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with an f/1.57 lens, which is able to take 48MP images, although by default it is set to 12MP.
  2. Ultrawide: This has 8MP, 119-degree ultra-wide-angle snapper for those stretching landscape shots, combined with an f/2.25 aperture.
  3. Macro: 2MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. Though the low-resolution macro cameras on smartphones did not impress us too much.
  4. Depth sensor: Nord comprises this forth camera with a 5MP depth sensor and f/2.4 aperture. It has a dual-LED flash.

There are shooting modes like nightscape, portrait, super macro, and pro, plus slow-motion video capture at 240fps and 4K recording at 30fps and Full HD.

Two Front cameras:
  1. Main: It has a primary wide selfie camera with 32MP, f/2.45 fixed-focus aperture.
  2. Ultrawide: 8MP resolution with 105-degree ultra-wide-camera, complete with f/2.45 aperture.

There is a feature of video captures like 4Krecording at 60fps.

Battery

Though there is no wireless charging support, Nord sports a 4115mAh battery which would last a whole day with a 30W Warp Charge 30T.

RAM and storage

Nord is available in 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage configurations, which is not bad for an affordable smartphone.

Software

Nord has premium OxygenOS 10.5 on Google’s Android 10 operating system.

Chipset

The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset with octa-core CPU and Adreno 620 GPU.

Connectivity

Nord comes with a dual SIM and 5G support which means users can take advantage of the future generation network speeds. It has dual-band Wi-Fi 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.1.

Additional specifications

The OnePlus Nord has a face unlock feature, an under-display fingerprint sensor, a linear vibration motor, and a single loudspeaker and also an alert slider.

Our Final Verdict

This is pretty much everything that you could ask for, though we would love to see wireless charging, a telephoto camera, and stereo speakers with this latest smartphone. Among all the other mid-tier smartphones in recent times, people will always choose OnePlus Nord when it comes to value.
